Quality education

Hawke’s Bay schools and institutions provide a broad range of academic subjects, along with the opportunity to develop talent in sports and arts, eg rugby, equestrian, sailing, drama and music. We are able to offer education from primary school through to post-graduate level. Our schools have relatively small roll counts and a low concentration of international students, which enables students to have a genuine New Zealand education and dedicated support. Many of our schools are amongst the country’s top-ranking schools for academic and other achievements.

Beautiful natural environment

Hawke’s Bay has a beautiful landscape, including mountains, rivers, ocean and forests. Its Mediterranean-style climate means long, fine, non-humid summers with day-time temperatures reaching 25- 30 oC and night-time temperatures around 15-20 oC, and short, mild winters with temperatures between 10-15 oC. Our sunshine hours are amongst the highest in New Zealand. It is suitable for outdoor activities all year round.

“Summer in Hawke’s Bay is legendary with long, hot days and warm nights.”

Great food

Hawke’s Bay is the largest producer of pip and stone fruit in New Zealand and a world-renowned wine region. Much of this produce is available direct from the grower, either on-site or at our widely applauded farmers’ markets.
